Cleaning and Disassembly

Electronic modules must not be washed with the textile glove. Disconnect USB, power, and all cables. Prepare a Phillips screwdriver and a small container for the four screws.

1. Parts Checklist

• One pair of G7 textile gloves.
• Five fingertip EMF + IMU modules and elastic leads.
• One back-of-hand controller with built-in IMU.
• One controller cover.
• Four retaining screws.

2. Disassembly

2.1 Open the Velcro Panels

Lay the glove with the back facing up. Open the wrist strap and back-of-hand cover. Lay the fabric flat to expose the controller cover, screw holes, and wiring without pulling any lead.

2.2 Remove the Controller Cover

Remove the four corner screws with a Phillips screwdriver and store them together. Lift off the black rectangular cover to expose the wiring cavity and mounting base.

2.3 Remove the Controller

Gently lift the elastic lead bundle to release the lower restraint. Lift the controller vertically out of its recess while arranging the five leads to prevent tangles.

2.4 Remove Fingertip Modules

Follow each elastic lead and slowly withdraw all five EMF + IMU modules from the finger sleeves. Wash only after every electronic module has been removed.

3. Reassembly

3.1 Inspect the Parts

Lay the glove flat and identify each finger position. Verify that the four screws, cover, controller, and five fingertip modules are present and that no cable is cut or damaged.

3.2 Install Fingertip Modules

Push each module smoothly into the correct fingertip pocket. With the hand relaxed, each elastic lead should be neither taut nor bunched, and finger motion should not bind. Route all five leads to the center of the back of the hand without crossing, knotting, or crushing them.

3.3 Install the Controller

Lay the lead bundle flat in the bottom of the recess. Align and seat the controller. Verify that all leads remain in the lower cavity and are not exposed, pinched, or folded.

3.4 Install the Cover

Align the cover and four holes. Start all four screws by hand, then tighten them evenly with moderate force. Verify that the cover has no play or raised edge.

3.5 Close the Velcro

Lay the back fabric flat over the controller cover, press the back panel into place, and tighten the wrist strap. The surface should be flat without wrinkles or bulges.

3.6 Fit Check

Put on the glove, make a fist, extend and spread the fingers, and bend each finger. Verify that fingertip modules do not shift or press into the fingers, the controller and cover do not move or rattle, and every lead moves freely without snagging.

4. Handling Warnings

• Never pull the elastic leads forcefully; internal conductors may break or detach.
• Tighten screws gently and evenly; do not force a mounting hole.
• Return every sensor to its original finger. Mixing positions causes pose offsets or acquisition errors.
• Do not expose modules, cables, or the cover to water or detergent.

5. Hand Washing and Care

5.1 Materials

5.2 Correct Procedure

1. Wash only the textile glove after removing all electronics. Close the wrist Velcro to prevent snagging.
2. Use cool water at no more than 30°C. Soak for no longer than five minutes.
3. Use a mild neutral detergent. Do not use bleach, disinfectant, or strong alkaline cleaner.
4. Gently press soiled areas. Do not scrub, twist, brush, or stretch the glove.
5. Rinse thoroughly so detergent cannot attack the microfiber or elastic materials.
6. Do not wring. Lay the glove on a dry towel to absorb excess water.
7. Air-dry completely in a shaded, ventilated place before reassembly or storage.

5.3 Prohibited Care

• No machine washing, spin drying, tumble drying, hot air, direct sun, ironing, or dry cleaning.
• Do not soak for long periods or store damp in a closed space.
• Frequent washing shortens the life of bonded, microfiber, and elastic layers. The source guide warns that delamination, cracking, or loss of elasticity becomes more likely after more than five washes; prefer spot cleaning.
